Acadiana Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ACTM)

The Acadiana Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ACTM) represents teachers from the parishes of Acadia, Vermilon, St. Landry, Evangeline, St. Martin, Lafayette, and Iberia. BRACTM represents teachers from the parishes of East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Baker, Zachary, Central, Iberville, Livingston, East Feliciana, St. Helena, Ascension and Point Coupee. BRACTM provides its 400 members with three general meetings and a mini conference each year. Three to four newsletters are emailed to members keeping them informed of news in math education at the national, state, and local levels. At the first meeting of each year two members are selected by lottery to attend the LATM conference with expenses paid by BRACTM. General membership meetings center around a theme for the year and focus on the general topic or target specific grade levels. Because both Southern University and LSU are located in our area, students from both campuses are encouraged to attend meetings and the mini conference.
